the last of the summer roses

Autumn has arrived and time to look back on a beautiful summer filled with all the flowers we love to grow and press to use in our designs.

Ballerina and Marjorie Fair Roses, Verbena, Alchemilla Mollis, Thalictrum and Astrantia, one of our oldest English cottage garden plants, to name but a few have filled our large wooden presses, just as the welcome presence of bees and other pollinators have filled in the garden too.

Autumn Leaves

We now look forward to the rest of Autumn and the leaves on our Acer trees are slowly turning from green to rich golds and reds a time when every leaf becomes a flower before the winter frosts. The quote ‘To Plant a Garden is to Believe in Tomorrow’ by Audrey Hepburn is so very apt.
